Attactions

This hill called Bukit Kasih because people of different religions can gather and worship side by side as a symbol of religious harmony. There are five houses of worship here, a Catholic church, a Christian churches, temples, mosques and Hindu temples were built in the second peak. On the first pass is a white cross with a height of 53 meters, which can be seen even from the Boulevard beach in Manado. In addition, this place is believed to be the original place of the ancestors of the Minahasa people, Toar and Lumimuut stay. Their faces look of carved on the hillside beneath the second peak.

To reach the top of Bukit Kasih, you have to climb the steep stairs as much as 2435 stairs or using secure access on the right side of the monument. When climbing stairs, you can see the beautiful scenery of sulfur crater where hot water is used by the local community to cook corn, beans and eggs.

If you want to walk in this complex from the second peak to the first peak, use comfortable shoes considering the steep staircase. For those who have problems with the heart, is not recommended to climb the stairs because it requires strong stamina.

Bukit Kasih located in the village Kanonang in Kawangkoan, about 55 kilometers from Manado, North Sulawesi, Indonesia.

To reach this location, it takes two hours drive from Manado via Tomohon, you should use private cars or rent, because public transport is rather hard to find. It should be noted that the road along the steep and winding mountain Soputan.

Facilities and accommodation

For facilities that are available here fairly complete, for those of you who want to shop, you can buy different kinds of souvenirs here as bracelets, necklaces and other crafts made from coconut shell and wood are made by locals. For dining, there is a variety of the available food stalls in this place, but if you want a little to enjoy different foods, you can try corn, sweet potatoes or eggs are boiled in hot crater.
