For those of you who like the underwater scenes, this is one place that is required for your visit !! Seen from the outside, this place does seem ordinary, but if you've dived in it, you will be amazed by the underwater beauty.


Attractions

Lembeh Strait is a dive site that has a depth of 15-25 meters. Generally there is no flow, temperature covered varies throughout the year, which is 24-30 degrees Celsius. Visibility is generally not good, ranging from 4 meters to 20 meters if you are lucky.

These waters feed giant fish that are difficult to find in any region in the world. Lembeh Strait is rated as the best muck diving sites in the world. Muck diving is diving at the location with the sandy sea floor.

The unique ecosystem is home to the nudibranchs, flamboyant cuttlefish, mimic octopus until fluffy frog fish. Details of their exceptional beauty is expensive object for lovers of underwater photography. This is where the nickname "The Mecca of Macro Photography" attached to the Lembeh Strait.

In addition, Lembeh Strait waters have multifunctional roles such as ports, local marine transportation, fisheries and marine, industrial activities, shipping, tourism, maritime security base, as well as a natural laboratory.

  • Shipwrecks

At the edge there Lembeh Island Tri Command Monument People (Trikora) adjacent to the DC-3 aircraft Air Force. Lembeh Strait is located in the region of Lembeh Island, Bitung, North Sulawesi Province, Indonesia. 

Access

To go to this place, you need to fly to Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado, next to the city of Bitung which can be reached within 45 minutes by car hire at a rate of about Rp 300,000 or public bus in the direction of Manado-Bitung with Rp7500 charge for non buses -AC and Rp8500 for AC buses.

Arriving in Bitung, you have to go to the Ruko Pateten dock in the district Lembeh and crossing by boat for about 15 minutes. The cost per person is approximately Rp7500. This crossing is relatively very safe because the sea was blocked by Lembeh Island.

Along the way, you will be treated to a view of boats of various sizes. There is a traditional fishing boat and there are also warships belonging to Indonesian Navy.
