This place is a beautiful mountain, where he is still around the island of Sulawesi, is a peculiarity of this mountain has a peak that is almost the same, so that the surrounding community named twin peaks or Dua Sudara (two brothers).



Attractions

When you arrive in Bitung, North Sulawesi, you will be welcomed by this beautiful mountain. Dua Sudara Mountaint a non-active mountain in the east of Mount Klabat. Two peaks of Mount Dua Sudara create a distinctive landscape while captured into the camera, both clearly visible from the coast of Lembeh Strait. Although it seems very impressive, still rare mountain climbers who want to conquer it as high as 1,351 m above sea level.  

The slopes of the foothills of Mount Dua Sudara met by palm trees planted by the City Government Bitung. This is done with the goal of environmental sustainability because, according to Wallace's theory, Tangkoko and Mount Dua Sudara is a region through which the hot wind blowing from the south to the north. If there is no load, the wind will directly hit the North Pole so that the ice will melt.

In addition, residents of plantation commodities such as corn, cassava, coconut and banana also adorn the foot of this mountain. The rest is a siege rattan tree, banyan, teak woods and weeds are inhabited by endemic to Sulawesi like possum, tarsiers and Maleo. 

The name Mount Dua Sudara is not so famous but its presence is excellent for local climbers. The only route that allows is from Bitung. Usually it took more than four hours to get to the top with a muddy field.

No special permit to climb but you have to pay an entrance fee and the cost of Rp 85,000 to guide foreign tourists and Rp 75,000 for local tourist. Payment is made at the post 1 which is housed in Tangkoko Nature Reserve-Dua Sudara, Batu Putih Village.

On the way, you will find a forest of moss which indicates that the peak is near. At the top, be prepared find bivouac former army training ground. 

It is important to bring navigational tools such as a compass and a map for mountain climbing did not have a fixed path. Also keep in mind that Mount Dua Sudara do not have a source of water so you have to carry enough water preparation.

Acces  

Distance from Manado, North Sulawesi capital to Bitung approximately 44 kilometers. You can take a public bus route from Manado-Bitung Paal Terminal or Terminal Dua Karombasan. For other alternatives, you can take a taxi which cost is more expensive, I would suggest, if it comes in groups, it is better to rent a vehicle.

Facilities and acomodation

Facilities and acomodation  provided on this mountain were minimal, as most of the mountain in Indonesia is still green, so all the necessities needed for a hike should be taken alone. If you do not want to bother to bring, you can hire a porter to bring your things, but you have to spend extra money.
