Attarction

Lore Lindu is a national park that serves magnificent nature to explore. With an area of approximately 231,000 hectares, here dwells rare flora and fauna endemic to Sulawesi, which you can not encountered in other parts of the world. Simultaneously will encounter mountains, lakes, swamps and forests once in a complete mix and intact. There is also a Lindudi Lake, located at the foot of Mount Nokilalaki with a height of 2355 m above sea level. The lake is a source of livelihood of local fishermen who catch fish freshwater.

This region has various types of forest ecosystems are different. Some of them are pamah tropical forest ecosystems with high rainfall, lower montane forest ecosystems, mountain forest ecosystems, and ecosystems with different species composition. Lore Lindu National Park has a rainfall between 2000-3000 mm per year in the north and 3,000-4,000 mm per year in the South. Temperature ranged between 22-34 ° C with an average humidity is 86% and an average wind speed of 3.6 miles per hour. The highest peak in the mountain region is Rorekatimbu approximately 2,600 m above sea level.

It is estimated that there are 117 species of mammals, 88 species of birds, 29 species of reptiles, and 19 species of amphibians that live in the Lore Lindu National Park. Of these 50% are endemic to Sulawesi, such as tonkean macaques (Macaca tonkeana tonkeana), hog deer (Babyrousa babyrussa celebensis), tangkasi (Tarsius diannae and T. pumilus), possum (Ailurops ursinus furvus and Strigocuscus celebensis callenfelsi), maleo (Macrocephalon maleo), Sulawesi toad (Bufo celebensis), civet Sulawesi (Macrogalidia musschenbroekii musschenbroekii), Sulawesi rat (Rattus celebensis), Sulawesi hornbill (Penelopides exarhatus), gold snake (Elaphe erythrura), and endemic fish in Lake Lindu (Oryzias sarasinorum ).

Fauna that grow in this region are also diverse. Several types which include endemic is Wanga and leda. Leda plant is often used as an ingredient in cosmetics beauty because it has a sweet aroma. There are also plants sejenisrotan (Calamus spp), fig tree (Ficusspp), Palm (Arenga pinnata), resin (Agathis Damara) and bag Semar (Nephentessp), and Pangi (Pangium edule) whose fruit is a food or better known as rawon .


Not only rich in natural resources and biodiversity, the park also keep the rest of megalithic civilization and is one of the best megalithic monuments in Indonesia. Approximately 431 situsmegalitik Besoadi Valley civilization heritage Lore Lindu National Park can be seen side by side in harmony with magnificent wild. You can observe a variety of legacy in the form of a human statue, urn (kalamba), disc (tutu'na), convex stones (stones dakon), a pillar of stone and mortar houses with different sizes. Currently most peniggalan still standing strong with good conditions and expected hundreds of years old.

In the vicinity of the national park is also still remain some local tribes Kaili which include: Kaili Ledo, Kaili IJA, Kaili Ado, kaili Moma, Kaili Tohulu, and Kaili Da'a. All these tribes are descendants of the Ash. In addition, there are also migrants from outside such as Bugis, Javanese, Toraja and Bali.


Location  

The natural attractions are located in two districts of Donggala and Pos in Central Sulawesi Indonesia. 

Acces 

Lore Lindu National Park can be reached by four wheel drive through the Palu-Kamarora (50 miles) and takes about 2.5 hours, Hammer-Wuasa (100 miles) of five hours and Wuasa-Besoa (50 miles) four hours. Palu- Kulawi (80 miles) six hours. We recommend that you use a private car or rent a car, because the travel time is quite long, so if you use your own car with a driver, you can rest comfortably without worry with your goods.

After arriving at the park, you can get around this national park by foot or on horseback through the Gimpu-Besoa-Bada for three days and Saluki (Sidaonta) -Danau Lindu for one day.
 


Facilities and accommodation

In this place already available various facilities, among others, information center, camping ground, guest house, a viewing tower, shelter, dirt roads, and others.
