Hay travelers, come stop by my country, there are a lot of cool places, interesting and very beautiful that you deserve to go. Especially for you newlyweds who want a honeymoon, or do you like to make a trip or adventure, Come visit Komodo island Indonesia.



This time I will discuss about the island of Komodo. Who is not familiar with this island? This island is one of the 7 wonders of the world. Inhabited by the largest lizard on earth !! Komodo Island is located in Nusa Tenggara islands. The island is included in the Komodo National Park along the island of Rinca, Padar, Motang Island and many other smaller islands.



Attarctions

This island is the native habitat of the animals komodo, giant lizard meat eater. On the island there are more than 2,000 komodo that live in the wild. You can see komodo seeing prey in many locations in this place. It's important to get around with a company for safety reasons for being here.

In 1986, UNESCO set Komodo Island and other islands in the Komodo National Park as a World Heritage site because of the existence of komodo that can only be found in this region. Habitats of endangered animals are outdoors with meadows, white sandy beaches and tropical rain forests.

Komodo Island won the award for the New Seven Wonders of Nature which is a tribute to the seven best natural attractions in the world. Determining the winner is obtained from the results of voting and research experts, Komodo island won the highest vote along with six other tourist attractions are the Iguazu Falls, the Amazon Forest, Puerto Princesa Underground River, Halong Bay, Jeju Island and Table Mountain.

Komodo is a giant lizard reptile meat eaters that can reach 2-3 meters and weigh 100-165 kg. This animal has a scientific name Varanus komodoensis, while local people call this animal as the 'Ora'. If seen, komodo is creepy, with a great body, sharp nails, scaly skin and has a forked tongue that always stuck out. The main prey komodo are pigs, horses, deer, raccoons, buffalo and monkeys.

Komodo Island is not only contains animal komodo, Komodo addition, there are many other animals that inhabit this island such as horses, deer, various species of birds, snakes, lizards and much more. One way to enjoy this island is to do trekking. You can see these animals when trekking in Komodo Island.

When trekking, you will be invited to climb Mount Ara which has a height of 538 meters above sea level. You will also pass the Water Hole is a place to drink and rest komodo. You can see the komodo who are drinking or under the shade of the surrounding trees.

There are four trekking trails to choose from, ranging from short, medium, long until adventure. This trekking path length is 1-8 km depending on the type you choose. If you choose a long and adventure, you will be invited to pass through forests, rivers and beautiful hills. As for short, the trip will end at the top of the hill with amazing views of the bay. However, four of the trekking path will pass through Water Hole so you do not need to be confused to choose which path.

During trekking, you and the group will be accompanied by a ranger or guide once the handler komodo. Ranger will equip you with a forked stick that end. It is said that the stick is made from a type of tree that can be a weapon to weaken komodo. If komodo attacking or pursue suddenly, forked end of the stick which is used to suppress the neck komodo, komodo in a short time will weaken and stop attacking.


Komodo Island is not only offers natural beauty mainland only. The underwater world in this island is equally beautiful. There are about 386 species of coral, 70 species of sponges, seaweeds as a home to thousands of species of fish, green sea turtles, whales, sharks, dolphins and others.

The underwater world of Komodo Island and Komodo National Park known as one of the best dive sites in the world. When diving or snorkeling here, you can see the beauty of marine life that is very rich and diverse. From many points of diving there, here are the three best diving spots in the island of Komodo by many divers:

The island is located in the district of Komodo, West Manggarai regency, East Nusa Tenggara Indonesia.

Access to go to this island can be by plane, by land or by boat. If you use the plane, you will fly from Denpasar to Labuan Bajo. After that you can continue the journey by boat crossing to the island of Komodo. If the bus, there is a bus that will take you from Denpasar to Labuan Bajo, then still have to cross by boat crossing. If the ship, you can depart from the port of Benoa Bali to Labuan Bajo, and crossing to the island of Komodo.


Facilities and accommodation

Facilities provided include toilets, places of worship, restroom, food stalls, a souvenir sellers, and some lodging. For lodging, usually the tourists stay in Labuan Bajo, but if you want to stay on the island of Komodo, you can spend the night with a tour guide, but in this place of electricity will be turned off at 10 pm.
